Township Fire-Rescue, as an American Heart Association Community
Training Centre, offers CPR and first-aid courses throughout the year.
Courses are generally taught at our fire station in Yellow Springs,
but can be customized and delivered at other locations. Please see
below for the upcoming courses.

Heartsaver AED
This course teaches CPR, AED
use, relief of choking in adults and children and use of barrier
devices. All classes are held at Miami Township Fire-Rescue Station
81 in Yellow Springs. Call 767-7842 for more information or to
register. Tuition is $17.50 for Miami Township residents; $35 for all
others.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers
Through the ACLS course,
healthcare providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the
adult victim of a cardiac arrest and other cardiopulmonary
emergencies. ACLS emphasizes the importance of basic life
support CPR to patient survival; the integration of effective basic
life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions;
and the importance of effective team interaction and communication
during resuscitation. All classes are held at the Greene County

Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Refresher
To take this 8-hour refresher
course, you must have a current AHA ACLS provider card. All
classes are held at the Greene County Career Center in Xenia Township.

Pediatric Advanced
Life Support (PALS)
The goal of the PALS provider
course is to teach students how to recognize infants and children at
risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, to provide students with strategies
for preventing cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children, and to
teach students how to perform the cognitive and psychomotor skills for
resuscitating and stabilizing infants and children in respiratory
failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest. All classes are held
at the Greene County Career Center in Xenia Township. Call
