Volunteer Membership Types
There are three main types of volunteer membership:
If all of this has really spiked your interest print out our
application
or drop in and pick one up at the station,
fill it out and drop it by the station during business hours.

Operations |
| Operations membership is the action and excitement side of the department.
Operations members serve as Firefighters and/or Emergency Medical
Technicians (EMT's) and respond to fires, medical emergencies, car
accidents and special rescue situations. If you’ve always wanted
to be a Firefighter and/or EMT, or if you are already certified as
one, this is the membership category for you. If you do not have any
training, don’t worry; MTFR provides all Firefighter and
EMT training at no cost. |

Antioch
College Student Program
|
Antioch College students have been fighting fires and saving
lives in Yellow Springs and the surrounding areas since 1889. At
MTFR, Antioch students work side-by-side with our other community
volunteers and full-time staff to provide the very best service
available. In fact, the training and experiences that are integral
to the emergency services provide real-world applications to an
Antioch education. Through participation, certification and training
with MTFR, students can receive academic credit and cooperative
education experience. MTFR is also a FWSP employer as well as a
Bonner Scholars Program work site. Antioch students can earn academic
credits for the following courses:
- EMT-Basic: 4 credits
- Firefighter 1: 4 credits
- Firefighter 2: 4 credits
For more information on college crediting and academic
requirements,
e-mail the Office of the Registrar at
registrar@antioch-college.edu.

General
Membership |
|
Not interested in fighting fires or saving lives? We have a place
for you too! There are a host of support activities that are important
to the function of the department that do not involve responding to
emergencies. We need volunteers with modest skills in organisation,
administration, photography and much more. You can help with
recruitment, public relations, CPR instruction and emergency scene
recording.
